A couple on their way down warned me that a storm was approaching as I passed them thirty minutes from the top. The hiker in me hesitated. I didn’t have my rain gear with me, only my t-shirt and a thin outer layer. With an electrically conducting camera in hand and an incoming thunderstorm , did i really want to be by myself on a bare mountaintop?

Yes.

I thought if i could just sit up top until sunset, there would be incredible lighting of the clouds from below. So, I kept on going. And i sat up there soaked to my underwear until I saw the ribbons of rain dropping down on Miette Hot springs down below and took this shot.
